William Carlisle was about 1784 in either England or Scotland and died at Carwell Station near Rylstone NSW on 27 July 1852. His first wife Mary Ann Gordon who was born in Hanover Square, London, England on 24 November 1792 and died at Richmond NSW in February 1813. They had been married in St Matthew's church at Windsor NSW on 11 September 1811 and Mary Ann was buried there on 16 February 1813. William married Elizabeth Blackman about three years later. She left him for John Roberts in 1824. William was buried in the Carwell Creek Private cemetery on 27 July 1852. The graves in this cemetery have been flooded many times, having been placed too close to the creek. Consequently, they are in a very poor state. It is not clear whether William Carlisle's grave ever had a memorial stone.
